Ernst Schweizer AG, based in Hedingen, is selling its facades division to Geilinger AG with effect from 1 January 2024. According to the company, Geilinger will continue to operate the sales, technology, installation and service departments as a branch office at the current location in Hedingen. In return, it will take over 40 employees from Ernst Schweizer. The façades themselves will in future be produced at Geilinger’s site in Winterthur. “Geilinger’s core business is facade projects,” Harry Bienz, managing director of Geilinger AG, is quoted as saying in the statement. “Especially in the area of solar facades, Geilinger wants to participate in the proven expertise of Ernst Schweizer AG.”
Ernst Schweizer will therefore participate in Geilinger as a minority shareholder in the future. Samuel Schweizer sees the sale of the business unit as an important step for his company. “The project business, which is extremely complex in terms of processes and procedures, will find a new home at Geilinger, thus ensuring continuity for customers and employees,” the CEO of Ernst Schweizer AG is quoted as saying.
In the future, Ernst Schweizer will concentrate on the strongly growing product and supplier business. This is made up of four business units. Ernst Schweizer will continue to act as a system provider for wood/metal windows as well as folding and sliding walls, as a supplier of letterboxes and parcel boxes and as a provider of solar systems in Europe. The company will continue to employ over 450 people.
